A New Chapter Begins!

I am happy to announce that I'll be joining the Office of the CTO in the Storage and Availability group at VMware. That's right! I have landed my dream job.

On day 1 I'm flying out to Palo Alto to meet with my new boss, Christos Karamanolis, and the extended team in Product Management, Marketing, Tech Marketing, Engineering and many others I'll be working with on a daily basis. As part of my role I will get to work with all of these folks to help shape where our storage and availability products are headed in the future. I can't wait to dive into the innards of vSAN, SRM, vVOLs and all of the other products we'll be working on together.

As part of my role I hope to get this blog fired up again! I have teammates (Cormac Hogan, Duncan Epping and others I haven't met yet) that are superstars when it comes to blogging so I have a lot to try and live up to. If you have a subject you'd like me to write about just let me know.

Something I've always loved doing is meeting with customers to help solve their problems. Fortunately, I will be able to continue to do that in this new role. I will be attending VMWorld, VMUGs, and other customer facing events that will allow me to interact with the most important people VMware has, our customers.

In closing, I wanted to thank everyone who helped me through this process with advice, reference letters, and encouragement. I think I realize each day just how small the world of IT actually is and how fortunate I am to be a small part of it. I can't wait to return the favor one day!
